Elston's Old Church

Tucked away on the north-east edge of Elston is a small chapel with Norman doorway, box pews, west gallery and remains of wall paintings.

The nave and slightly narrower chancel have masonry from the twelfth to sixteenth centuries.

Several web sites provide full details of the Old Church 1 2 3 4 5

Note for folks not from the Vale: don't confuse Elston (by the A46) with Elton on the Hill (on the A52).
