Kati Koppana Born 1939 and grew up on Norse myths. Only at age 28 began to delve into Finnish mythology. Finnish Gods was the first small book to appear (later revised as Of Trees and Rocks) with Snake Fat and Knotted Threads giving more details of Finnish traditional magic. She has also written Forest Spirits, translated from her Metsänhenget, about a hands-on approach to the forest. Very little has appeared in a world language about Finnish magic and mythology. This stuff is written by one who has actually tried some of it and who has been cermoniously bitten by ants! (Never meditate sitting on the ground in woods, choose a rock . . .) Poetry has been popping out here and there with 23 Cantos for the Goddess and Times Past and Times To Be coming from Heart of Albion Press. Kati spent a year in Canada, following the steps of Mom, and three years in London. None of this affected her work! She is investigating Baltic knitting and is working on a book about The Kalevala Books and booklets by Kati Koppana published by Heart of Albion Press: Snake Fat and Knotted Threads – An introduction to traditional Finnish healing magic 23 Cantos for the Goddess Times Past and Times To Be
