Alec Moretti
According to the Military Index,Volume 2,Chelsea Pensioners produced by the Leicestershire Family History Society, Wymeswold was represented at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 by two villagers who applied for out-pensions. They were:-
Charles Dewick of the 14th Foot. He served for 10 years 6 months and was aged 21 when he made his application. As he was born in 1798 and baptised in 1808 (aged 10 along with 5 brothers) he would have been aged 17 at the battle.
Thomas James of the 12th. Dragoons. He was aged 38 when he applied, and had served 22 years 6 months. He was baptised in 1789 and so would have been aged 26 at the battle.
