Recumbent priest

Freestone

c. 1320

At the east end of the north aisle lies the effigy of a priest dressed in mass vestments and a furred amice. The hands are now vanished. The head rests on a lozenge-shaped cushion. At the feet is what looks like a mutilated dragon.

Although there is no inscription the late Rev John Yates believed the effigy to be that of Cossington's first Rector.
