1888

When listening to a concert at Emmanual Church in 2008 I noticed a memorial on the north wall of the chancel. I have yet to revisit to photograph and take details, although I plan on doing so November 2026.

The Heritiage England Listing describes the memorial as: "Monument to Richard Croslier by Thomas Brock, 1888, in form of lunette, showing corpse and mourners."

Brock was born in 1847 and died in 1922. He has been described as "the undisputed leading British sculptor of his day".

The church was originally built in 1837 and the chancel was lengthened in 1909.
