The two large figures of William and Jane Jervis are depicted wearing long cloaks and ruffs.
They are kneeling on cushions on either side of a double reading desk.
The inscription is on a black plaque between and above the two figures and reads:
Here sleepe they whose life was such
that even envie could not touch
Therefore their faire vertues shall
live admired and loved of all
Here under lieth the bodies of
William Jervis esquire who died
the 9 Januarie 1618, being
then high sherrif of this shire
and age 55 Elizabeth his
virtuous wife consecrated this
monument who afterward married
with Sir Richard Roberts
knight.
On the base of the two columns is inscribed
As you are so were we
as wee are so shall you be.
Between the two figures are the arms:
Sable, a chevron Ermine between three hawks Argent (Jervis);
Azure, on a chevron, between three fleur-de-lys Argent, three estoiles Gules (Shepherd)
