Recumbent priest

Freestone

c.1250

This weathered effigy, now set into the chancel south wall, may commemorate one of the early priests of the church. The effigy's hands are raised in prayer with a chalice below them. While the lines of the vestment can still be seen, the face, however, is worn smooth.
