![]() Bareheaded with long hair, the male figure has his head on his helm, the crest of which has broken off and disappeared. Sporting an SS collar he is wearing a gorget and Lancastrian-style armour, under the fauld of which a narrow fringe of mail may just be seen. A dagger lies by the right side, and his feet are resting on a lion. ![]() Katherine, the daughter of Thomas Staunton of Sutton Bonnington, Nottinghamshire, is depicted with her head resting on a triple cushion supported by angels. She is also wearing an SS collar and has a long robe held at the waist by a cord. A little lap dog is seen worrying the hem of the dress. The tomb-chest has six shields (the colours of the painted arms have worn off) held by three bareheaded and three crowned angels each under an ogee arch. At the west end there are three more bareheaded angels while at the east end an incised slab has been used to patch up the chest. There is no trace of an inscription.
